St Michael's Home for Girls, Crawley, Sussex

St Michael's Home for Girls was opened by the Waifs and Strays Society home in 1903 at 98 Ifield Road, Crawley. The small 'cottage home' could accommodate just 7 girls aged from around 6 to 13. The matron of the establishment was Miss Henrietea Stone.

The home closed in 1916, perhaps coinciding with the retirement of Miss Stone who would then have been aged 64.

The property is now a private residence.
