Springkell, Eaglesfield, Dumfriesshire, Scotland

Opened in October 1940, Springkell — a Palladian Mansion dating from 1734 — at Eaglesfield, near Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, was one of the dozen or so wartime evacuation centres that Barnardo's established in large country houses in Scotland.

The property is now privately owned and markets itself as an upmarket wedding venue.
