Stildon Home, East Grinstead, Sussex

The Stildon Home, a residential nursery for 30 babies, was established by the Waifs and Strays Society in 1945 at East Grinstead. The establishment, located on London Road, was officially opened on September 25th, 1945, by the Rev. Golding Golding-Bird.

In 1972, the nursery was converted to a home for older children. Its first residents came from the Society's Maurice Home in Ealing, which was then closed.

Due to a decline in demand for places, the home was closed in 1981.
