Blackford Brae, South Oswald Road, Edinburgh

In July 1944, Barnardo's opened their Blackford Brae home for young children at 31 (later renumbered 91) South Oswald Road, Edinburgh. The following year, the charity paid £6,000 to buy the property outright.

From 1966 to 1969, the home was used for children with emotionally difficulties, then became a day-care unit until its closure in 1994.

In more recent times, the property has been used by Barnardo's as a base for various community projects.
