The 'Beehive' Home, Mare Street, Hackney, London

In 1889, Barnardo's opened a 'rescue and training home for older girls' at 273 Mare Street, Hackney. Known as 'The Beehive', the home accommodated up to fifty girls aged 15 or over.

The home closed in 1927. The property no longer exists.
