Buckhurst Home, Leicester, Leicestershire

The Children's Society (formerly the Waifs and Strays Society) opened its Buckhurst Home in 1948 at 195 London Road, Leicester, as a replacement for the Leicester Boys' Home. The new home was formally opened on June 28th, 1948, by the Lord Mayor Leicester, with a service of dedication conducted by the Bishop of Leicester. Unlike its predecessor, Buckhurst was a mixed home.

The home was closed in 1972. The building no longer exists.
