Thurlby House, Woodford Bridge, Essex

In 1919, Barnardo's took over the former Thurlby House Industrial School on Chigwell Road, Woodford Bridge. The property, adjacent to Barnardo's Garden City site, was used to provide care for older boys suffering from physical disabilities.

The home was closed in 1949. The property, now a listed building, has been converted to flats.
