The Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry (SCAI)

The Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry was established in 2015 to investigate the nature and extent of historic child abuse in Scotland covering the period which is within living memory of any person who suffered such abuse. Susan O'Brien QC was appointed as chair but resigned in July 2016, following claims that she had made 'unacceptable' comments relating to a child abuse victim. She was succeeded by the Right Honourable Lady Anne Smith.
