Glandare House, Aberdare, Glamorgan, South Wales

In July 1950, Barnardo opened its Glandare House home in a property on Oxford Street, Aberdare. Original accommodating thirty boys, the home became mixed in 1966.

The home closed in December 1970 with the children being transferred to a new building at Newport which retained the name Glandare House.

The Aberdare home no longer exists and the St John Baptist School now occupies the site.
