Thorngrove, Gillingham, Dorset

In 1948, Barnardo's opened a home known as Thorngrove on Common Mead Lane, Gillingham in Dorset. Originally just for girls', the home later became mixed.

The home closed in January 1964. The house now lies at the centre of a caravan park and garden centre.
