20 Spadina Road, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
In February 1948, Barnardo's moved its Canadian base in Toronto from Jarvis Street to new premises at 20 Spadina Road, Toronto. The move also included the records of some 50,000 Barnardo's children who had emigrated to Canada.
In 1952, a further relocation took place to premises at 466 Briar Hill Avenue, Toronto. Following the closure of that establishment in 1960, all the records were shipped back to England.
Records
Note: many repositories impose a closure period of up to 100 years for records identifying individuals. Before travelling a long distance, always check that the records you want to consult will be available.
